ALSIUS (Latin translation for "Cool") is the worldwide leader in intravascular thermal regulation technology. The Cool Line

The Alsius Cool Line catheter is inserted into the subclavian or jugular vein and resides in the superior vena cava. The Cool Line incorporates two proprietary, MicroTherm balloons which have sterile, temperature-controlled saline flowing within a closed-loop design, enabling direct heat exchange with the central circulation.

CoolGard 3000®

All ALSIUS® heat exchange catheters connect to the CoolGard 3000 Thermal Regulation System, which achieves and maintains a target temperature input by the user. It remotely senses changes in patient core temperature and automatically adjusts the temperature of the circulating saline within the catheter (0-42°C), providing consistent maintenance of temperature. The CoolGard 3000 represents a powerful platform for current and future temperature management therapies as they are developed.

Keeping patients warm during surgery has been shown to reduce complications, facilitate earlier extubation and shorten hospital stays. The advanced technology of the new Thermogard™ system from ALSIUS provides precise control of core body temperature more effectively and efficiently than conventional external methods.
